Job Description

We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in the Healthcare/NHS industry located in Vernon, Connecticut. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting and smooth month-end closings.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately record daily transactions and ensure proper categorization of entries.
  • Assist in preparing for month-end closing, including compiling and reviewing financial data.
  • Perform reconciliations of bank statements, accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update financial records and databases.
  • Generate reports as needed to support financial analysis and decision-making.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including filing and organizing documents.
  • Utilize accounting software and systems for efficient functioning.
  • Handle customer inquiries related to their accounts.
  • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
  • Perform auditing tasks and bank reconciliations as part of the regular duties.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and ADP
    - Financial Services.
  • Experience with Case Ware and Concur.
  • Understanding of ERP
    - Enterprise Resource Planning.
  • Familiarity with Accounting Functions.
  • Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Knowledge of Auditing principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in conducting Bank Reconciliations.
  • Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare/NHS industry would be an advantage.
