Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are one of the fastest-growing transportation companies in the Pacific Northwest. Operating throughout the 11 Western states, we have built our success through disciplined operations, strong customer partnerships, and a team that takes tremendous pride in delivering results.

As our fleet, customer base, and overall operation continue to expand, we are investing in the accounting infrastructure and talent needed to support that growth. This is an opportunity to join a special company during an exciting stage of its journey—where strong performers are recognized, trusted with meaningful responsibility, and given opportunities to grow alongside the business.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Senior Accountant to join our team at our Vancouver, Washington headquarters. This is a position for someone who enjoys being close to the operation, partnering across departments, and taking ownership of several priorities at once.

We are especially interested in candidates who are on a leadership trajectory. The goal is for the right person to have the opportunity to advance into an Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager position within their first year, based on performance, readiness, and the continued needs of the business.

This is not a narrow accounting role. The Senior Accountant will gain exposure across the accounting function, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, fixed assets, and depreciation. Experience in trucking, transportation, freight, or logistics accounting is a significant advantage, but it is not required. We are ultimately looking for the strongest accounting professional—someone who is curious, adaptable, dependable, and motivated to grow.

What You'll Do

  • Take an active role in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring financial information is complete, accurate, and delivered on time.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, supporting schedules, and general ledger activity.
  • Support and help oversee accounts receivable, including billing accuracy, cash application, aging review, collections, and issue resolution.
  • Support and help oversee accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding, approvals, payment preparation, vendor reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Maintain fixed-asset records and assist with capitalization, depreciation schedules, disposals, and account reconciliations.
  • Help ensure expenses, equipment purchases, leases, and other transactions are recorded and classified appropriately.
  • Prepare internal financial reports and provide meaningful analysis to accounting leadership and other business partners.
  • Investigate account discrepancies, identify root causes, and drive issues through resolution.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, audit preparation, and other financial projects as needed.
  • Help strengthen accounting procedures, internal controls, documentation, and reporting processes as the company grows.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, safety, recruiting, payroll, and other departments to gather information and solve business problems.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.
  • Take on increasing leadership and process-ownership responsibilities in preparation for potential advancement into an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller role.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field preferred.
  • At least 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a Senior Accountant or similarly hands-on role.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and general ledger accounting.
  • Meaningful experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
  • Working knowledge of both accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
  • Exposure to fixed assets, capitalization, and depreciation is highly valuable.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working within accounting or ERP systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, judgment, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities…
