About the Team

Seattle Parks and Recreation’s Accounting department is seeking individuals with professionalism and integrity who bring a great attitude, excellent customer service and have a good knowledge base and experience in Accounts Receivable, attentive to detail, and the ability to demonstrate their skills to perform the full range of functions. This position reports to Accounts Receivable supervisor directly.

The Accounting Technician II will provide financial, clerical, and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate billings under his or her control. In addition, the position will perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts receivable transactions.

  • Create monthly invoices per agreements/contracts.
  • Maintain and manage customer accounts including creating customer file, issuing billings, collecting payments.
  • Review customer monthly statement, raise if have aging transactions.
  • Provide responsive service to SPR staff and management with all billing related questions.
  • Conduct bankruptcy research and Jury Duty check collection.
  • Support reconciliation with bank statement and general ledger transactions under supervision.
  • Maintain NSF log and prepare deposits documents.
  • Perform other relevant duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Two years accounting/bookkeeping experience or one year experience as an Accounting Technician I; (or a combination of education/training/experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).
Desired Qualifications
  • Perform variety of Accounts Receivable functions (issue billings, collecting payments and maintain customer files).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Outlook, Teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive and independent work attitude. Track record with meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain positive working relationship in a multi-cultural workplace with a diverse customer base, as well as part of a team.
  • Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
Work Environment

Work is performed in a normal City work/office environment.

The full salary range for this position is $33.72 - $39.18 per hour.
