Bookkeeping Assistant - Junior level

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeping Assistant to support our accounting team. The successful candidate will assist with maintaining financial records, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information.

Key Responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions in accounting software.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare and issue invoices to customers.
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
• Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
• Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
• Prepare financial reports and summaries as requested.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on overdue payments.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Respond to vendor and customer inquiries regarding payments and accounts.
• Perform general administrative duties related to the accounting department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred.
• Previous bookkeeping, accounting, or administrative experience is an advantage.
