Job Title:Personnel Assistant I
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct general personnel clerical tasks including employee records, benefits, education, training, employment/staffing, compensation, labor relations, equal employment opportunity and affirmative action.
- Conduct surveys and update manual and automated personnel records.
- Perform clerical and secretarial duties under general supervision of higher-level personnel in human resources tasks such as compensation, benefits, staffing/employment, EEO procedures, and policy administration.
- Exercise discretion and make limited judgments as required.
- Operate general office equipment, e.g., typewriter, personal computer, copier, adding machine, and facsimile.

RequirementsMust be U.S. citizen and clearable for a federal clearance. Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency. Preferred: at least 2 years of administrative military personnel experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess a valid U.S. state driver's license.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Ability to read, comprehend, and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence. Ability to effectively respond, communicate, and present information to clients and employees.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesOperational knowledge and experience processing identification issuance requests, issuing identification badges for building and system access, DoD CAC Card issuance policies and procedures, and completion of required DEERS/RAPIDS training. Must have initiated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) and completed an FBI fingerprint check or an equivalent investigation.

Work EnvironmentPrimarily performed in an office environment; occasional travel to off‑site projects may involve outdoor work, warehouses, supply points, motor pools, and maintenance facilities for short periods of time.
