Airport Program Coordinator

Support One of America's Oldest Operating Airfields Pearson Field Airport is more than an airport—it's a historic community asset with a unique role in the region's transportation network and aviation history. The Airport Program Coordinator serves as a key member of the airport team, supporting daily operations, tenant services, regulatory compliance, records management, communications, and special projects. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, values exceptional customer service, and thrives in an environment where attention to detail and initiative makes a difference.

This is a part-time, regular, non-exempt position. The schedule is M-Th 8am-5pm, may vary. Open until filled, first review - August 17, 2026. Posting may close earlier if more than 200 applications are received. At the City of Vancouver, we are committed to paying our employees fairly, equitably, and competitively. City salaries are structured so that the midpoint of the salary range approximates the amount typically paid for the job in this geographic area.

Candidates with experience supporting their ability to come in and hit the ground running may receive a starting salary around the midpoint of the listed salary range. Actual salary at offer is influenced by a host of factors, including a candidate's relevant experience, education, licensure, certifications, and internal equity. The higher end of the listed pay range indicates the salary growth potential of the position.

Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as a point of contact for airport tenants, visitors, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate hangar agreements, waitlists, inspections, and related communications.
  • Maintain operational records and support regulatory compliance activities.
  • Assist with Airport Advisory Committee meetings, agendas, materials, and records.
  • Support emergency preparedness efforts and airport operational readiness.
  • Track facility maintenance needs, inspections, and work orders.
  • Assist with newsletters, website updates, and tenant communications.
  • Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications

Experience and Education

  • Two (2) years of experience in general administrative support, light bookkeeping.
  • Equivalent to a HS Diploma/GED
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Computer Skills

  • Intermediate Excel and Word

Knowledge

  • Record keeping and records management
  • Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment
  • Use of personal computers and basic software

Abilities

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Bookkeeping
  • Operate a personal computer and appropriate software
  • Work in a manner consistent with the City of Vancouver's Operating Principles
  • Work and act as a team player in all interactions with other City employees
  • Provide a high level of customer service at all times
  • Project and maintain a positive image with those contacted in the course of work
  • Develop and maintain collaborative and respectful working relationships with team members and others
  • Consistently provide quality service
  • Maintain regular and dependable attendance
