Assistant Construction Manager

The Assistant Construction Manager supports Project and Site Managers in the day-to-day execution of large-scale construction projects. This role bridges the gap between office-based project controls and field-based operations, ensuring safety, quality, and financial targets are met across diverse sectors (Aviation, Energy, Oil & Gas, Water, etc.).

• Project Controls: Assist with cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structures (WBS), and progress tracking.
• Contract Administration: Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and the bidding/award process for subcontractors and suppliers.
• Field Operations: Support site mobilization/demobilization, permit acquisition, and material management/inventory control.
• Labor & Equipment: Analyze crew rates and labor burdens; monitor craft production rates, competency, and staffing levels.
• Safety & Quality: Conduct audits to ensure compliance with safety programs and project specifications.
• Financial Management: Support invoicing, insurance verification, and basic accounting principles to ensure earned value.
• Documentation: Maintain project filing systems, meeting minutes, and the final project turnover/closeout process.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 3+ years of relevant construction experience (equivalent experience may be substituted for a degree).

  Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with project management, scheduling, and document control software preferred.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving, multi-tasking in fast-paced environments, and excellent communication.
• Logistics: Must meet company driving requirements and be willing to work on-site.
