Construction Coordinator

Location: Vancouver, WA

Employment Type: Contract

Position Overview

The Construction Coordinator will support the successful execution of Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) projects by assisting with the administration and coordination of project safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, procurement, documentation, and field activities. This role works closely with Project Management, Construction, and Field teams and supports projects across a wide range of industries including aviation, commercial buildings, electrical transmission & distribution, facilities, manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation, process, and water.

Key Responsibilities Project Administration & Coordination
  • Assist with the administration of project safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, procurement, proposals, estimates, documentation, turnover, client interface, and field-based activities.
  • Support Project Management in executing prime contracts, downstream contracts, and change orders.
  • Assist with development and implementation of project plans including:
    • Project Execution Plan
    • Quality Assurance Plan
    • Safety & Health Plan
    • Subcontracting Plan
    • Project Staffing Plan
    • Organization Chart
    • Procurement Plan
Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Adhere to company safety programs and policies and assist others with compliance.
  • Participate in project safety, quality, progress, and financial audits and assessments.
  • Uphold craft competency, training standards, and applicable labor laws.
Procurement & Contract Support
  • Coordinate supplier and subcontractor registration and pre-qualification efforts.
  • Assist with RFP package development, bid processes, subcontractor selection, and scope of work documentation.
  • Support contract administration including RFIs, submittals, change management, and claims mitigation.
  • Assist with subcontractor, supplier, and prime contract invoicing.
Project Controls & Reporting
  • Support project controls efforts including cost reporting, scheduling, WBS development, project setup and closeout in accounting systems, and field progress tracking.
  • Assist with internal and external reporting such as:
    • Project budgets
    • Cost reports
    • Cash flow forecasts
    • Project status reports
  • Assist with earned value, schedule, cost metrics, and change management tracking.
Field & Jobsite Support
  • Assist with jobsite setup, mobilization, and demobilization.
  • Support securing applicable project permits.
  • Coordinate construction equipment to ensure adequate inventory.
  • Assist with onboarding of craft and field supervision.
Labor & Staffing Support
  • Analyze and report composite crew rates, labor burdens, and equipment costs.
  • Maintain accurate craft classifications and progression records.
  • Assist with staffing needs and labor forecasting.
  • Support estimating, forecasting, and managing craft install unit rates.
Documentation & Closeout
  • Establish and administer project documentation and filing systems.
  • Assist with project turnover documentation, recordkeeping/retention, warranty administration, and closeout.
  • Participate in project, corporate, and risk review meetings; prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
Additional Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all company policies and standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field required or equivalent applicable experience may be substituted.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Working knowledge of document control, scheduling, cost control, and project management software preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet company driving requirements.
