Position OverviewWe’re looking for Electrical Superintendents to lead industrial and advanced technology projects across the U.S. as part of the Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation.
Responsibilities- Mentor and develop other Superintendents
- Review and approve labor rates for foremen, journeymen, and laborers
- Manage contract administration, including subcontractor and field management meetings
- Develop and maintain good client relations through staff on site
- Initiate and attend supplemental and regular meetings with clients for problem resolution and planning
- Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
- Review, approve and negotiate change orders
- Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover
- Maintain a daily diary for record keeping
- Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations for direct reports
- Recommend organizational, policy, procedural, or staffing changes as appropriate
- Review and approve or reject promotions up to General Foremen
- 10+ years of construction experience, including 1+ year in a General Superintendent or leadership role; experience on large heavy civil construction projects preferred
- Self‑starter with high motivation and ability to work independently
- Quick learner of Kiewit policies, procedures, and software programs
- Strong problem‐solving skills
- Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal abilities
- Demonstrated leadership, safety, negotiation, planning, and contract administration experience
- Regular, reliable attendance
- Work productively and meet deadlines
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others
- Follow safety procedures, including use of equipment and warning signs
- Work during normal operating hours and be available for overtime and weekends as required
- Be willing to work at various locations under varying conditions
Base Compensation: $150,000 – $180,000 per year (actual compensation varies by education, experience, skill set, location, and other factors).
