Hourly Range: $22.34 - $24.28
Position SummaryOn‑call Dental Assistant position available for our Vancouver—88th St. Dental Clinic. Candidate will assist the dental provider in the delivery of dental procedures allowed by the Washington State Dental Practice Act, including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, and any other procedures permitted under the Act. Major duties include maintaining proper records for material safety data sheets (MSDS), performing spore tests, managing inventory of dental supplies, training new Dental Assistants, and organizing schedules to generate checklists for maintenance of dental procedures.
Ability to work on Saturdays is required.
- Assist the dental provider with restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, orthodontic, and oral surgery procedures.
- Maintain proper records for MSDS and perform spore tests.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies.
- Assist in training new Dental Assistants and organizing schedules.
- Generate checklists for maintenance of dental procedures.
- Work on Saturdays as required.
- Valid Washington State license and BLS certification.
- Organizational skills and experience with dental records.
- Familiarity with computer use.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate in English; reading and writing in English required.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
- Preferred previous orthodontic experience.
- For Dental Assistant II: completion of a formal Dental Assistant program and a minimum of 6 months of work experience, or 18 months of experience if no formal training.
- For Dental Assistant III: knowledge of sterilization methods, OSHA regulations, and quality improvement. Must be able to duplicate and mount radiographs, place temporary restorations, take impressions, pour and trim models, place retraction cord, place matrix bands, perform coronal polish, and give fluoride treatments. Minimum of 2 years of experience (or 3 years if no formal training).
