The Les Aspin Center for Government is seeking experienced practitioners with an advanced degree (MA, MPA, MPP, JD, PhD, etc.) to teach one or more 1 to 3 credit courses over 5 to 15 weeks during the Fall 2026 semester. The course topic should relate to the semester theme of “
Communications, Media, and Journalism
.” The courses will be taught in‑person at the Aspin Center in Washington, DC.
For a 1‑credit short course, we welcome your creativity to teach a 5‑week undergraduate seminar on a specific topic based on your expertise (e.g., congressional or White House reporting, crisis communication strategies, public relations in polarized times, data visualization, etc.). For a 2‑ or 3‑credit course (10 or 15 weeks), broader topics relating to the semester theme are appropriate (e.g., media law, business communications, etc.).
Responsibilities- Prepare, design, and teach one or more 1‑ to 3‑credit courses over 5 to 15 weeks during the Fall 2026 semester (depending on course credits).
Skills and Abilities
- Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.
Skills and Abilities
- Experience in government, public policy, or related fields.
- Advanced degree (MA, MPA, MPP, JD, PhD, etc.).
