Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time Tenure-track Professor in Early Childhood Education. Department and college service work is expected with the position (as assigned by the division or college) to support the institutional mission and goals, foremost being student success and retention. This position begins on September 14, 2026.

The successful candidate will join current faculty in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) program that enjoys a long and rich history of serving the early learning workforce needs in Southwest Washington. Clark College offers a variety of educational pathways including state stackable ECE certificates, an Associate of Applied Science degree in ECE, the ECE Department Program provides hands-on training in the Child and Family Studies Program located on campus, partners with early childhood programs in a variety of care facilities in the service area.  

The program will develop candidates who are skilled in supporting the learning needs and development of children birth to third grade leading with equity-rooted pedagogy, cultural responsiveness and with the ability to meet the needs of each and every child as an individual and as a member of their familial and social community.  This position will be responsible for advising ECE students and teaching multiple early childhood education courses in a variety of instructional methods both on-line and face-to-face.

POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Teach Early Childhood Education courses grounded in developmental theory and teaching methodologies.

* Work with faculty, administration and partnerships to promote the ECE program.

* Respond to teaching and learning practices using data, assessment and analysis.

* Demonstrate Power, Privilege, Inequity knowledge and competence and affirm commitment to equity and diversity in the learning environment.

* Build professional relationships with mentor teachers, and other personnel.

* Participate on the advisory board.

* Use a variety of active teaching strategies using disciplinary knowledge, diverse theories, issues, and trends in early learning.
