TITLE OF POSITION - Aviation Technology Assistant
LOCATION - Cascadia Technical Academy (CTA)
REPORTS TO - Instructor-Director
DEPARTMENT - Cascadia Technical Academy (CTA)
Hours / Work Times
7.5 Hours Per Day (7:30 a.m.
- 3:30 p.m. includes 30 minute unpaid lunch)
June 29, 2026 - July 17, 2026. July 3, 2026 is a non-work day
Must meet Para educator Employment Requirements as follows*:
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent;
- Must meet one or more of the following:
- Have received a passing score of 455 or higher on the Education Testing Service Para Pro Assessment (ETS test/PRAXIS);
- Hold an Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university;
- Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university;
- Have completed a Para educator Apprenticeship Program (program must be registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council).
* If you do not meet the required qualifications listed above, your name will be screened out from the list of qualified candidates.
Upon hire, new para educators will be required to complete state required training offered through Evergreen School District.
Position Duration - Summer
Classification Group - Professional Technicians Class IV
Salary: $28.48 to $35.42 per hour. (See salary schedule.)

SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Aviation Technology Assistant assists in directing student activities in the aviation trade in small and medium sized groups, supports problem solving, and manages classroom behavior.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Assist instructors in supervising students.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and the public.
- Assist with group instruction and positive learning environment.
- Assist in evaluating instruction and maximizing student potential.
- Maintain accurate data on student progress.
- Assist in administering and scoring formal and informal tests.
- Implement behavioral management strategies.
- Assist in organizing instructional materials.
- Perform First Aid/CPR as needed.
- Attend training sessions to stay updated on aviation trade.
- Transport students as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Basic typing/keyboarding.
- Minimum of two years aviation industry work experience or training preferred.
- Knowledge of aviation industry professions.
- Pilot license with 250 hours of flight time, preferred.
- Certified Flight Instructor or military equivalent preferred.
- Strong foundation in science principles.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations.
- Challenge Course certified facilitator or willingness to obtain certification, preferred.
- Previous teaching and/or supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to work with high school juniors and seniors.
- Ability to work as team member.
- Human relations skills.
