215 days / 8 hrs per day. There will be 4 furlough days in the school year resulting in 211 paid days.

Responsibilities- Assist in the development and implementation of procedures/processes for Special Services.
- Coordinate curriculum and programs in assigned area(s).
- Maintain a positive relationship with students, staff, parents, and community by modeling respect, cooperation, and professionalism.
- Assist in the implementation of district goals by providing leadership in general and special education.
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of inclusive programming and service delivery models for students receiving special education services and multilingual learners.
- Provide ongoing training and/or support for staff.
- Demonstrate knowledge and support of the district vision, mission, and focus.
- Participate on various district committees.
- Serve as a liaison between Special Services Instructional Staff and Special Services Administration.
- Represent the district Special Services program in meetings.
- Communicate concerns/needs progress to Special Services Director.
- Disseminate information to staff in a clear/concise manner.
- Gather information from staff as needed for decision making.
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring of new staff.
- Assist buildings in determining staffing needs and student programming.
- Assist in providing orientation for new staff.
- Establish a set of culturally responsive standard operating procedures, practices, and routines.
- Provide and/or facilitate training of staff with regard to the most effective practices that lead to higher student achievement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of in‑service training programs.
- Participate in the budget process, facilitate preview of instructional materials, and maintain inventories.
- Establish and maintain a working relationship with building and district administration.
- Support building teams in planning and maintaining effective service delivery models.
- Assist building teams in maintaining due process.
- Provide technical assistance to principals regarding special education staff (e.g., evaluations).
- Other duties or projects as assigned.
- Develop cultural competence and a commitment to equity in outcomes and opportunities for adults and students.
- Lead for equity towards college and career readiness.
- Nurture a school environment that celebrates, respects, and values diversity.
- Publicly draw attention to all equity gaps that exist for various groups of students with plans to address their elimination.
- Initiate activities and discussions that lead to increased cultural competence of staff.
- Support the development and implementation of behavior support systems that increase student access, engagement, safety and participation in the least restrictive environment.
- Assist teams in analyzing behavioral attendance and discipline data to identify trends, address disproportionality, and support equitable student outcomes.
- Maintain current knowledge of developments in general education curriculum, inclusive practices, specially designed instruction, and evidence‑based instructional strategies.
- Support staff in implementing effective instructional practices that promote student access, participation, and progress.
- Assist staff with the development and implementation of instructional supports, accommodations, modifications, and specially designed instruction aligned with student needs and state standards.
