Financial Customer Service Instructional Assistant (9885 CTE)

Reports To: College, Career, and Technical Education Program Instructor

Under the supervision of the Director of College, Career, and Technical Education (CCTE) and the program instructor, this position is responsible for assisting in the supervision of students on an individual and small group basis. The instructional assistant will assist in the daily operation of the school’s credit union, help students with technical teller training, organize and assemble instructional materials, assist the instructor in the evaluation of teller work and student performance, and support leadership activities.

• Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and the general public.
• Oversee operation of the Credit Union and students performing as bank tellers.
• Assist with daily operation of the school credit union.
• Provide one‑on‑one and group instruction to students.
• Organize and prepare instructional materials.
• Evaluate and direct instruction to maximize each student’s potential.
• Administer and score formal and informal tests.
• Maintain accurate data on student progress.
• Implement behavioral management strategies.
• Perform inventory processes and year‑end activities.
• Attend required training sessions.
• Maintain positive learning environment and relationships with iQ Credit Union administration.
• Perform First Aid/CPR when necessary.

• Minimum of two years experience as a bank teller supervisor.
• Experience operating an on‑line or off‑line banking system, including teller error location and correction.
• Knowledge of and ability to adhere to banking laws.
• Excellent communication skills with students, staff, parents, and the general public.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including high‑school students and customers.
• Personal characteristics of flexibility, initiative, cooperation, and confidentiality.
• Ability to perform under constant interruptions.
• Organizational skills and ability to follow through.
• Ability to coordinate lab activities for students with limited supervision.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships as part of a team.

• At least 18 years of age and hold a high‑school diploma or equivalent.
• One or more of the following:
  • Passing score of 455 or higher on the ETS Para Pro Assessment.
  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100‑level or higher at an accredited institution.
  • Completed Para educator Apprenticeship Program registered with Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.
