Job DescriptionEligible employees may accrue sick leave at the rate of one (1) hour of sick leave for every forty (40) hours worked under Washington State Law. Upon working 630 hours in a school year, eligible employees may be eligible for insurance benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) which includes medical, dental, vision, long‑term disability, life and AD&D insurance.

- Responsible to the Athletic Director/Coordinator and the Head Coach.
- Must be able to attend all after‑school practices, games, tournaments, meetings, and related events.
- Must be able to drive the district van to transport participants.
- Cooperate with the head coach, athletic director, and principal in performing duties related to the school athletic program.
- Ensure that players under his or her jurisdiction understand the training‑rule policy and that the signed parental permission form is in the coach’s hands before a student begins practice. All parental forms are returned to the athletic director.
- Support the head coach in conducting the athletic program of that sport and the total athletic program of the school district.
- Remain loyal to the head coach and to the team. He or she may have to give up some of his or her own thoughts regarding team strategy to fit into the overall pattern set forth by the head coach.
- Attend all practices from the first day to the end of the season and be available for all staff meetings and scouting assignments.
- Maintain a positive relationship with students, staff, parents, and the community by modeling respect, cooperation, and professionalism, recognizing personal achievements and professional contributions, and demonstrating sensitivity toward individuals and groups from all racial, ethnic, cultural, national, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Assume responsibility for maintenance of facilities and personnel in the absence of the head coach.
- Report all injuries, misconduct, or other unusual situations to the head coach, athletic director, or principal.
- Assist the head coach in checking in and inventorying all equipment at the end of the season.
- Assume all duties as assigned by the head coach.
- Attend rules clinics, workshops, and classes required to maintain compliance with WIAA coaching‑certification standards.
- Apply discipline in a fair, firm, and positive manner.
- Conduct oneself in an ethical manner during practices and contests.
- Provide information regarding letters and special awards.
- Current First Aid/CPR card required.
- Current Type II driver’s license required.
- Previous high‑school coaching experience preferred.
