Position Title: CO-CURRICULAR DIRECTOR/ADVISOR
Position Details: JAZZ BAND B DIRECTOR
Responsibilities- Report to the Associate Principal in Charge of Activities.
- Attend all after‑school events, practices, meetings, etc.
- Be responsible for all matters pertaining to the organization and administration of the activity under your direction.
- Cooperate with administration and fellow advisors to promote the best interests of the school.
- Maintain a positive relationship with students, staff, parents, and community by modeling respect, cooperation, and professionalism, and by recognizing the achievements and contributions of others while demonstrating sensitivity toward individuals and groups from all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Conform to Evergreen Public Schools policy when ordering equipment and supplies for the activity.
- Keep accurate records of all participants.
- Assume responsibility for the conduct of all participants during events associated with the activity.
- Ensure participants remain under supervision until they have safely left the building, securing all facilities before departure.
- Enforce district policy that students do not receive keys to buildings when the advisor is not present.
- Arrange for cleaning, storage, and inventory of all equipment.
- Coordinate transportation arrangements with the Associate Principal in Charge of Activities.
- Ensure facility regulations are understood and enforced.
- Maintain records of the activity and individual accomplishments.
- Valid Washington teaching certificate.
- Training and/or experience related to the activity.
- Preferred:
Training and/or experience with Professional Learning Communities and workshop techniques. - Preferred:
Experience working with children and families who are culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse.

- Ability to nurture a school environment that celebrates, respects, and values diversity, making teaching and learning relevant and meaningful to students of varied cultures.
- Ability to initiate activities and discussions that enhance staff cultural competence and inform and expand classroom teaching practices.
- Demonstrated instructional leadership and a strong commitment to equitable student outcomes.
