2026 - 2027 School Year

This is a Continuing Position

Evergreen Public Schools (EPS) offers the following to eligible employees who work at least 630 hours in a school year:

  • Medical, dental, vision, basic long-term disability, basic life and AD&D insurance through School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB).
  • Employees may also be eligible to participate in FSA, DCAP, HSA, FPFSA (w/HDHP), and other supplemental benefits.

Employees may be eligible for employer-employee funded retirement benefits through Department of Retirement Services (DRS).

EPS offers paid holidays and paid time off, including but not limited to, sick, vacation, personal, religious, and bereavement leave. Additional negotiated leave options can be found in the associated Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for this position Evergreen Education Association.

Certificated positions may have additional pay provisions above what is represented on the salary schedule such as, but not limited to TRI pay, In-Service days, and Extended Contracts, all in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) as negotiated.

This position requires demonstrated bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English. Applicants must successfully complete a Spanish/English language proficiency assessment and achieve a rating of Advanced High or higher in speaking, reading, and writing, as measured by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) through Language Testing International (LTI).

Applicants who have completed a recognized Spanish/English language proficiency assessment within the past year may submit official scores in lieu of retesting.

Candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Washington State Bilingual Education and/or English Language Learner (ELL) Endorsement and demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and/or experience in English Language Development (ELD) and Dual Language Education.

Essential Functions:

  • Create a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning for all students.
  • Assess students' bilingually in academic learning, and/or skills to provide feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding progress, expectations, and goals.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations, including attendance, IEP information, progress reports, cumulative records, and classroom inventory.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, students, and parents in order to continuously improve student outcomes.
  • Implement instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for achieving stated objectives for instruction and student success.
  • Create an environment that provides a safe and optimal learning environment for students.
  • Educate multilingual learners and dually identified special needs students within the regular classroom environment in collaboration with other staff.
  • Become familiar with, uphold, and assist in enforcing of school rules, administrative regulations, and board policy.
  • Demonstrate a professional and positive attitude when carrying out responsibilities as a staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning events, grade-level/department/PLC/coaching cycles/job-alike sessions, learning labs, and district committees as requested.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development at the school and district level.
  • Ability to modify curriculum and materials designed for use in other contexts.
  • Participate in State, Federal, and District testing requirements.
  • Demonstrate cultural competence and commitment to equity in outcomes and opportunities for adults and students.
