Digital Media Arts Professor

Clark College is currently seeking to fill a part-time Digital Media Arts Professor position. The courses taught may include video and audio production, motion graphics and animation, and computer graphics, using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator. Courses may be conducted in a variety of instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and remote/online instruction.

This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Applicants must be available to teach daytime and evening hours as program needs arise. Adjunct faculty may teach no more than five (5) courses per academic year.

Positions may begin as early as Fall Quarter 2026.

This is a part-time faculty position and is not eligible for employer-sponsored benefits.

Position Responsibilities

General faculty responsibilities include: instructing classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning, participating in decision-making processes by taking part in department meetings, keeping current with digital media arts industry best practices and technical skills, striving to enhance teaching and learning techniques, working effectively with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds, and understanding and committing to the mission of Clark College.

Position responsibilities include: planning and teaching courses in a student-centered manner, preparing a course syllabus including course requirements, attendance expectations, grading criteria, and appropriate college policies, assessing student performance promptly and regularly throughout the term, communicating effectively with students via email and through Canvas, and attending at least three department and advisory meetings per academic year.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications and competencies include: a bachelor's degree or higher in Film, Video, Digital Media Arts, Multimedia, or a closely related field OR a certificate or associate degree with ten (10) or more years of relevant industry experience will also be considered. Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, teaching experience in a college or university environment, experience in course development, including creating course objectives and assignments, experience teaching in various modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, Zoom, and/or online instruction, ability to work effectively as a member of a collaborative team, and ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

Salary

Statement

Lecture rate is $95.60/hour, and lab rate is $81.66/hour.
