LOCATION: York Elementary School
REPORTS TO: Principal
DEPARTMENT: Elementary
Hours / Work Times
4.93 Hours Per Day (8:45 a.m.
- 10:35 a.m.. and 11:05 a.m.
- 2:11 p.m.)
2.67 Hours Per Day on Early Release Days (9:10 a.m.
- 10:00 a.m. and 10:25 a.m.
- 12:15 p.m.)
190 Days Per Year (180 student days / 10 holidays)
A valid First Aid/CPR card must be submitted to Classified Personnel within
45 days of hire. Only courses with a "hands-on" component taught by a certified instructor are acceptable.
This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after 09/04/26.

Salary Placement: New employees will start at the minimum hourly rate in the classification salary range. However, employees who have verified prior years of service of similar occupational experience may receive experience credit towards salary step placement.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Under the supervision of the building Principal, the Playground Monitor is responsible for supervision of students on the playground and surrounding areas and/or in the cafeteria so that the safety and well being of all students is guaranteed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Supervise and monitor students on the playground and surrounding areas until they return to their respective classroom(s), keeping students out of hallways, away from parking lots, bike racks, and other areas that are considered unsafe.
