Step into a meaningful contract opportunity shaping the academic experience of middle school students as a Special Education Teacher. Working onsite within a diverse educational setting, you’ll collaborate with staff and families to provide individualized support to learners with a variety of disabilities. This full-time position covers the  school year, with consistent hours Monday through Friday, ensuring stability and strong rapport with students.

Essential

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification in Washington State
• Proven experience, or strong interest, in working with middle school learners with a range of disabilities
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, staff, and parents/guardians
• Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Collaborative approach for working alongside other educators and support professionals
• Comfort with both remote (Zoom) and in-person interview formats

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver differentiated instruction adapted to individual student abilities and goals
• Monitor student progress, assess needs, and adjust interventions as necessary
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth, independence, and self-advocacy
• Support and guide paraprofessionals working within the classroom
• Participate in IEP team meetings and communicate progress with families regularly
