Hours / Work Times

8 Hours Per Day (7:30 a.m.

- 4:00 p.m. includes 30 minutes unpaid lunch)

190 Days Per Year (180 student days / 10 holidays)

This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after 09/04/26.

Must meet Para educator Employment Requirements as follows*:

• Be at least eighteen (18) years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent;
  AND
• Must meet one or more of the following:
• Have received a passing score of 455 or higher on the Education Testing Service Para Pro Assessment (ETS test/PRAXIS);
  or
• Hold an Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university;
  or
• Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university;
  or
• Have completed a Para educator Apprenticeship Program (program must be registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council).

* If you do not meet the required qualifications listed above, your name will be screened out from the list of qualified candidates

Upon hire, new para educators will be required to complete state required training offered through Evergreen School District.

Salary Placement:
New employees will start at the minimum hourly rate in the classification salary range. However, employees who have verified prior years of service of similar occupational experience may receive experience credit towards salary step placement.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Computer Guided Study Para educator will work as part of the secondary educational building team in the planning and implementation of Guided Study, Peer Tutors, and the Computer Guided Study program for the high school buildings in the Evergreen School District. This may include, but is not limited to providing one-on-one, small group, and large group assistance to students involved in credit recovery and WASL preparation;

setting up and demonstrating the operation of the Computer Guided Study program to students and teachers; setting up and demonstrating adaptive equipment and software for students and teachers; participating in workshops, presentations, and demonstrations scheduled by the high schools, and providing support to students and teachers.
