Position Summary

Join our team as an Early Head Start Infant & Toddler Teacher and make a lasting impact in the lives of young children and their families. In this role, you will provide a safe, responsive, and developmentally appropriate classroom experience for children birth to 3 years of age enrolled in our Full Day Full Year Early Head Start program. You will build meaningful relationships with children and families, create individualized learning experiences, observe and track children's development, and work collaboratively with your classroom team to support each child's growth and success.

Compensation

& Schedule

Our Full Day Full Year centers operate Monday-Friday from 6:30AM to 6PM. This full-time, benefitted position is budgeted for 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
, working a daily 8-hour shift during the operating hours of the Full Day Full Year center. The wage for this role is $21.94–$22.93 per hour
, depending on qualifications.

Required Education

High school diploma or equivalent and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with an Infant/Toddler endorsement or an Initial Early Childhood Education Certificate (Initial Stackable Certificate).

Preferred Education And Experience
  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development with an emphasis on working with children birth to 36 months of age.
  • Associate degree in a field other than Early Childhood Education and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with an Infant/Toddler endorsement or an Initial Early Childhood Education Certificate.
Training Plan May Be Considered Based On Qualifications. Spanish/English speaking, highly desired Knowledge of
  • Current and developmentally appropriate best practices for infants and toddlers birth to 3 years of age.
  • Principles of infant and toddler development and developmentally appropriate curriculum planning.
  • Practices that support safe, nurturing, responsive, and engaging early learning environments.
  • Technological proficiency.
Ability to
  • Establish consistent, nurturing, and supportive relationships with infants, toddlers, and families from varying backgrounds.
  • Observe and assess children, identify individual developmental needs and strengths, and establish individualized goals.
  • Prepare and maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment that meets the developmental and educational needs of each child.
  • Track children's progress and incorporate observations and assessment information into curriculum and individualized learning experiences.
  • Build positive relationships and communicate effectively with families to support children's development and learning.
  • Maintain confidentiality of child, family, and program records and information.
  • Work cooperatively with staff members from varying backgrounds and use a team approach to resolving problems or conflicts.
  • Demonstrate professional and effective written and verbal communication skills; receive information and feedback in an understanding manner; use good judgment.
  • Attend appropriate staff meetings and out-of-town training sessions as assigned.
  • Perform the physical requirements of the position, including regular crouching, stooping, bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor to assist and engage with children, and supervising children outdoors in a playground setting.
