Electrical Engineer 1 / Substation Design

Join AZAD as an Electrical Engineer and support the Substation Design organization in the Transmission Services business line. This Electrical Engineer 1 will review, check, and design electrical drawings for electrical power substations; review and check electrical drawings for electrical facilities; conduct Station Service system analysis, and short circuit and Arc Flash studies.

This is a 2 year plus consultant position with high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. This position is hybrid based in Vancouver, WA with onsite 3 days per week.

The hourly pay rate range for this position (which includes a health and welfare fringe benefit of $4.93) is $33.27 to $42.93 depending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of selected compensation package.

The ideal candidate must possess the minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or directly related engineering discipline.
• 6 months of experience and knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to components and facilities found on a regional transmission system.
• 6 months of experience in performing design or technical review of high voltage substation physical designs in at least one of the following disciplines:
  Protective Relay and Control, Metering/SCADA, RAS, or HV Outdoor Equipment.
• Experience should include new substations, capacity additions, line/position extensions, reliability/automation improvements, equipment relocations/replacements, maintenance, and as-builts.
• 6 months of experience working with professional engineering theory and techniques sufficient to provide technical leadership in the design of the physical components of substations.
• 6 months' experience in electrical substation projects for new substations, capacity additions, line/position extensions, reliability/automation improvements, equipment relocations/replacements, maintenance, and as-built.
• Valid U.S. Driver's License/Real  required.

Preferred:

• 1 year of experience in QA/QC for electrical substation projects.
• 1 year of experience in Short Circuit and Arc Flash Study.
• 1 year experience with software programs to include:
  Bluebeam Revu or Adobe Pro, Micro Station or AutoCAD.
• 1 year of experience with File Structure System Project Wise.
