AFCAA produces independent, credible cost estimates for DAF leaders, CAPE, Congress, and GAO.
Provide services and support as a Journeyman Cost Estimator / Analyst [Operation & Support Legacy Cost Model Support and Independent Cost Estimates] in the Aerospace And Defense Industry Sector focussing on Risk Management Solutions for clients such as Department of the Air Force (AFCAA) | Air Force Cost Analysis Agency (AFCAA) / SAF‑FMC (Cost & Economics) | AFCAA O&S Division (SAF/FMCY).
Generally Located In Washington, District of Columbia (National Capital Region) and across the Continental United States (CONUS) – Mid‑Atlantic / National Capital Region (NCR) Region, Working Hybrid On/Off Client Site.
Executes O&S cost estimates under senior oversight; populates and maintains Excellungen-based cost models; conducts data collection, normalization, and AFTOC analysis; applies escalation and inflation; supports documentation, briefings, and estimate updates. Provide Aerospace & Defense Cost Analysis | Operation & Support (O&S) Cost Estimating & Model Execution | Legacy Sustainment Cost#SBATCH} Support.
Responsibilities and Duties- Provide Operation & Support (O&S) Legacy Cost Model Support and Independent Cost Estimates at Air Force Cost Analysis Agency (AFCAA), Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. Legacy cost modeling refers to programs at or beyond Initial Operating Capability plus five years.
- Develop and support O&S cost estimates for DAF aircraft programs under senior oversight; populate and maintain Excel‑based legacy cost models using government‑furnished templates; collect, normalize, and analyze cost data from AFTOC and other authoritative sources; apply approved cost methodologies, escalation, and inflation.
- Support Independent Cost Estimates (ICEs), NACAs, and SCPs through analysis, documentation, and reconciliation.
- Respond to AFCAA and Program Office data requests and support briefings as required.
- Incorporate new (non‑legacy) cost estimates from other analysts into a single output file that will provide a long‑term picture of Department of the Air Force (DAF) sustainment resource requirements.
Desired Qualifications fororney journeyman cost estimator/analyst:
- 3+ years progressive cost analysis experience; minimum deith years supporting DAF or DoD cost estimating efforts; experience applying AFI 65‑508 cost analysis principles in a government environment.
