Join AZAD as an Electronics Engineer and provide engineering and field support for one or more of the communications and control systems for the Power System Control Technical Services group located in Vancouver, Washington.
This is a 2 year plus consultant position with high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. This position is hybrid based in Vancouver, WA with onsite 3-5 days per week.
The hourly pay rate range for this position (which includes a health and welfare fringe benefit of $4.93) is $41.83 to $70.00 depending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of selected compensation package.
ResponsibilitiesProvide engineering and field support for one or more of the communications and control systems for the Power System Control Technical Services group.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics engineering is required.
- 10 years of experience and knowledge of electronic engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to one or more of the following:
Timing systems (GPS, PTP);
High‑speed data transfer (e.g., Transfer Trip between protective relays or Remedial Action Schemes);
Aggregation of alarms from sensors and RTUs;
Backup power sources (engine generators, 48V battery banks);
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) or other industrial control systems such as Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), or Building Management Systems (BMS) which utilize real‑time control, sensor integration, and actuator output within an industrial context. Experience with Process Automation and Instrumentation in automating processes, process variables, sensor calibration, and instrumentation in manufacturing, utilities, or laboratory settings. - 5 years of direct experience with designing, installing, or maintaining one or more of the systems required above.
- 1 year of providing support service to field users in a utility or industrial environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Valid U.S. Driver's License/Real required.
- Experience with industrial control or automation protocols (Ethernet or serial based): e.g., DNP3, Modbus, OPC, or packet‑based Ethernet/IP operational technology (OT) or industrial control system (ICS) networks.
- Hands‑on troubleshooting or maintenance experience with one or more of the systems required above.
- Experience conducting classroom training or laboratory workshops.
