Electronic Engineer​/Telecommunications

Join AZAD as an Electronics Engineer and provide engineering and field support for one or more of the communications and control systems for the Power System Control Technical Services group located in Vancouver, Washington.

This is a 2 year plus consultant position with high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. This position is hybrid based in Vancouver, WA with onsite 3-5 days per week.

The hourly pay rate range for this position (which includes a health and welfare fringe benefit of $4.93) is $34.00 to $52.00 depending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of selected compensation package.

The ideal candidate must possess the minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering is required.

5 years of experience and knowledge of electronic engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to one or more of the following is required :

• Corporate self-managed internal telephone system
• Microwave radios
• Fiber optic systems

2 years of direct experience with designing, installing, or maintaining one or more of the systems above.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Valid U.S. Driver's License/Real  required.

Preferred:

• Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and/or designing microwave links, including:
  • Equipment configuration
  • Measurements
  • Link budget analysis (or path analysis)
• Experience with industrial control or automation protocols (ethernet or serial based), e.g., DNP3, Modbus, OPC, or packet-based Ethernet/IP operational technology (OT) or industrial control system (ICS) networks.
• Experience providing support service to field users in a utility or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of Python script programming.
• Experience conducting classroom training or laboratory workshops.
