Founded nearly 50 years ago, the facility in Vancouver, WA has a growing product portfolio including mechanical cargo hooks and suspension systems, proprietary weighing systems and a Human External Cargo (HEC) line of equipment. In addition to serving every major OEM, the company heavily targets helicopter owners like municipals, fire, search and rescue operators and utility companies.

Position Overview

Location:

Vancouver, WA (Onsite)

Shift: Mon-Fri 6:00am – 2:30pm

The Safety & Site Maintenance Lead will support our aerospace manufacturing facility. This role serves as the company’s sole on-site owner of safety programs and is also responsible for overseeing building facilities, grounds, and manufacturing equipment maintenance. This is not a supervisory or desk-only position – it’s ideal for someone who enjoys being out on the floor, solving problems, working with people, and keeping a facility running smoothly and safely.

What You’ll Do

Safety

  • Serve as the primary representative for the company’s Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and workplace inspections.
  • Lead incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up.
  • Manage hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal.
  • Develop and deliver EH&S training to employees (PPE, machine safety, chemical handling, etc.).
  • Maintain safety records, permits, documentation, and regulatory reporting.

Facilities Management

  • Serve as point of contact for all facility-related vendors and contractors.
  • Coordinate and perform preventative and unscheduled maintenance on the building, infrastructure, and grounds.
  • Manage facility-related work orders and improvement projects.
  • Monitor and maintain HVAC, electrical, lighting, plumbing, fire suppression, security, and building access systems.
  • Oversee facility inspections, permits, and compliance requirements.
  • Support space planning, equipment moves, and facility layout changes.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform or coordinate maintenance and repairs on CNC mills, drills, test equipment, and other production machinery.
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance programs.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Maintain records of machine maintenance, spare parts, and service history.
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to minimize downtime.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, safety, and equipment performance.

Who You Are

  • 3–7 years’ experience in facilities, industrial maintenance, or EH&S.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Experience in maintaining industrial or manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proactive mindset, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in aerospace, machining, or precision manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with CNC equipment, PLCs, and machine tool maintenance.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, CPR/First Aid, forklift trainer).
  • Basic skills in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or automation.
