SummarySupports the applications engineering / project management department by providing pre‑sale and after‑sale engineering of purchased components.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Support the sales effort as needed by providing systems engineering, assisting with layout design, sourcing and specifying buyout components, and developing drawings during the quoting process.
- 3D modeling.
- Conveyor systems engineering.
- Support ordering of systems‑related components in conjunction with AE, Mechanical Engineering and Purchasing.
- Research new systems and related technology.
- Assist AE & PM role for approval packages and turnovers by analyzing information from the customer, quotation, Mechanical Engineering relative to the application requirements for buyout items.
- Provide systems costing support.
- Serve as the primary after‑sale point of contact for the Project Management department for buyout components, meeting technical expectations with clear communication.
- Manage key vendor/partner relationships and orders to ensure technical compliance, reduce financial risk, and maximize financial performance on projects.
- Develop costing and tracking tools related to system content as part of special projects.
- Travel as required, potentially up to 25% travel to support sales and site project management efforts.
- Continuously improve operating efficiencies by participating in cross‑functional teams, eliminating non‑value‑added activities, and documenting processes and procedures.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- 5 years of professional experience.
- Experience with analyzing job results and planning workflow.
- Experience maintaining production schedules on multiple simultaneous projects.
- Seven years of experience in the field may substitute for an engineering degree.
Travel up to 25% and on site at a job location, measuring site or troubleshooting equipment.
Work Environment- Office environment: employees protected from weather conditions or contaminants, but occasional temperature changes.
- Travel: up to 25% required.
- At a job site: exposure to extreme cold (>32°F for more than an hour), noise requiring shouting to be heard, hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, scaffolding, high places, chemicals.
- Oils: air or skin exposure to oils or cutting fluids.
- Atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation.
