Position Overview
Overhead Transmission Line Engineer on the Transmission Design team. This position may be based out of Del Mar, CA;
Lakewood, CO;
Vancouver, WA;
Salt Lake City, UT; or Reno, NV, or Remote.
- Design overhead transmission lines in the 69 kV to 500 kV range.
- Prepare construction sketches for overhead network services (4 kV through 34 kV).
- Perform structural analysis and design, and foundation designs.
- Model transmission lines in PLS‑CADD, determine right‑of‑way requirements, calculate conductor sags, and develop transmission line plan and profile drawings.
- Review vendor submittals.
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited school.
- 4–6 years of experience in overhead transmission design.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office product applications, PLS‑CADD, AutoCAD, MFAD or similar.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, with a high attention to detail.
- Great communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss technical recommendations with customers.
- Strong computer skills.
- PE license is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 10 % of the time.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
