Engineer II - Overhead Transmission Line Design

Position Overview

Overhead Transmission Line Engineer on the Transmission Design team.

Position may be based out of one of the following offices:
Del Mar, CA;
Lakewood, CO; or Vancouver, WA.

• Design overhead transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range.
• Prepare construction sketches for overhead network services (4 KV through 34 KV).
• Perform structural analysis and foundation designs.
• Model transmission lines in PLS‑CADD, determine right‑of‑way requirements, calculate conductor sags, and develop transmission line plan and profile drawings.
• Review vendor submittals.

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET‑accredited school.
• 2‑4 years of experience in overhead transmission design.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office product applications, PLS‑CADD, AutoCAD or similar.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, having high attention to detail.
• Great communication skills and ability to effectively discuss technical recommendations with customers.
• Great computer skills.
• Engineer‑In‑Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Must possess valid driver’s license.
