Apex Companies, LLC is seeking a motivated and experienced Structural Bridge Engineer to join our Growing Structural Engineering Department in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle or Issaquah). This exciting opportunity allows you to work on meaningful infrastructure projects that serve the communities where we live and work.

Position Overview

In this role you will design, analyze, and deliver transportation structures, including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, marine structures, and other miscellaneous structural systems. Depending on experience level, you will participate in small to medium‑sized structural projects or serve as a technical contributor on larger multidisciplinary efforts, working independently and collaboratively with internal teams. Under the guidance of senior engineers you will take responsibility for structural tasks and coordinate with internal teams.

Responsibilities as a Structural Bridge Engineer
  • Plan, analyze, and design transportation structures and prepare engineering calculations and technical reports.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and engineer’s cost estimates (PS&E packages).
  • Conduct structural modeling and analysis using industry‑standard software.
  • Prepare engineering reports and technical memoranda.
  • Review shop drawings and provide construction‑phase engineering support.
  • Assist with or lead construction cost estimation and quantity takeoffs.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, high‑quality solutions.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or related; MS in Structural Engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • 4+ years of progressively responsible structural design experience.
  • Experience in concrete, steel, and/or prestressed concrete bridge design is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
  • Familiarity with Washington State and/or Oregon transportation agency standards is preferred.
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as CSiBridge, SAP
    2000, LPILE, RISA3D, or similar.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage structural tasks under supervision.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD (experience with Micro Station is a plus) is preferred.

Annual Expected Pay Range

$100,000 – $120,000 USD
