Responsibilities- Functionally lead the Contract Management Department (CMD) specialist employees, including hiring of specialist resources as required (in liaison with Heads of Disciplines).
- Assist Legal with the review of Bid Documents to identify and mitigate risk-heavy clauses/obligations.
- Review commercial resourcing needs of projects and ensure that sufficient budget is assigned in the bids.
- Ensure that the drafting and administration of Subconsultant agreements are carried out using best practice.
- Ensure that contractual process obligations are complied with as they relate to contract management, change management, planning, document control, and claims/dispute resolution (and as per best practice), both internally and externally.
- Provide functional and subject-specific assistance, mentoring and guidance both to the commercial expert team of employees and to Project Managers across the Business Line.
- Prepare, assess, and negotiate changes, claims, and disputes.
- Communicate and liaise with client representatives on all project contract issues.
- Support, advise, and guide the internal project team with respect to all contract matters.
- Responsible for profitable execution of own projects with high focus on quality, potential innovative solutions and customer satisfaction as well as ensuring the order intake potential from change orders and follow-on-sales.
- Engages with customers to stay close to projects and customers by regular participation in key meetings to demonstrate leadership attention.
- Ensures compliance with COWI Quality Management System.
- Provide leadership within a multidisciplinary team environment that includes civil, structural, geotechnical and architectural disciplines.
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Professional Engineering (PE or PEng) License or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
- Experience on large-scale multi-disciplinary design build projects or progressive design builds.
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience in a similar role or equivalent (Experience in the Engineering and Construction industry is considered an asset).
- Experience working on projects through Alternate Project Delivery methods such as Design build, Progressive Design build or CMGC.
- Comprehensive written and oral communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- High organizational and time management skills.
- Effective team building skills, solid leadership skills and able to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work with staff located remotely.

Base compensation: $160,800 to $252,000 for the United States location. Actual compensation is subject to variations due to education, experience, skill set and/or location.
