Position Overview
Join AZAD Technology Partners as a CAD Technician and provide quality design, layout, and production of engineering, civil, mechanical, electrical, and fiber optic drawings within the Communications and Control Planning organization. This position performs research using standard, plan and profile, hardware, civil, and survey drawings to ensure product reliability and accuracy for engineering, technical, and commercial applications. The role may assist other Transmission Planning organizations, such as Transmission Planning and Customer Service Engineering, with CAD tasks as needed.
It is a 2‑year-plus consultant position with a high probability of long‑term, ongoing employment.
This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver, WA with onsite 1‑2 days per week. The hourly pay rate, which includes a health and welfare fringe benefit of $5.09, ranges from $29.09 to $46.09 depending on qualifications, experience, and selected compensation package. A valid driver’s license or RealID is required.
Key Responsibilities- Provide quality design, layout, and production of civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and fiber‑optic drawings.
- Conduct research on standard, plan, profile, hardware, civil, and survey drawings to control product reliability and accuracy.
- Assist other Transmission Planning and Customer Service Engineering organizations with CAD tasks as needed.
- Meet project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Provide weekly status updates if requested.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree or higher in a technical CAD training program preferred.
- 4 years of civil, structural, or electrical CAD drafting experience required.
- Knowledge and certified training or experience in Micro Station or AutoCAD required.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) required.
- Valid driver’s license or RealID required.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks accurately and timely.
- Strong mathematical skills including algebra and trigonometry.
- Experience handling multiple concurrent activities in a multi‑disciplined production environment.
- Professional demeanor with excellent written and oral communication, listening, analytical reasoning, and problem‑solving abilities.
