Heavy Civil Construction Estimator - Bridge, Culvert, HCSS Vancouver, WA Full-Time On-Site

We are seeking an experienced Mid-Senior Civil Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation of cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in our bids. This position requires a strong background in civil engineering and extensive experience in estimating for large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects including roads, bridges, and utilities.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to develop accurate project costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary project information.
  • Utilize estimating software, particularly HCSS, to create and maintain estimates.
  • Review and validate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential project challenges and advise on mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules.
  • Provide support during the bidding process, including presentations to clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in civil estimating with a focus on heavy civil projects.
  • Proficiency in estimating software, especially HCSS.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
  • Experience with project management is a plus.
  • Familiarity with FHWA, ACOE, and environmental reclamation projects is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
