Heavy Civil Construction Estimator - Bridge, Culvert, HCSS Vancouver, WA Full-Time On-Site
We are seeking an experienced Mid-Senior Civil Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation of cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in our bids. This position requires a strong background in civil engineering and extensive experience in estimating for large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects including roads, bridges, and utilities.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to develop accurate project costs.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary project information.
- Utilize estimating software, particularly HCSS, to create and maintain estimates.
- Review and validate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential project challenges and advise on mitigation strategies.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules.
- Provide support during the bidding process, including presentations to clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in civil estimating with a focus on heavy civil projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software, especially HCSS.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
- Experience with project management is a plus.
- Familiarity with FHWA, ACOE, and environmental reclamation projects is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
