- Grid Modernization:
Reliable and secure communication for grid operations is essential. We work with electric utilities to expand their capabilities with the latest technologies for remote monitoring, automation, and control to improve operational efficiency. - Networks:
We help clients build redundant, long‑haul, high‑capacity data networks using technologies needed for both business/IT needs and day‑to‑day operational requirements that keep the lights on. - Renewable Energy:
Our team connects renewable assets to electric grid infrastructure to provide critical communications for local utilities and system operators, including offshore wind, solar PV, hydroelectric power, and battery storage. - Rural Broadband:
Supporting high‑speed internet access to rural communities to advance educational and economic opportunities and help close the digital divide. - Private LTE:
Development of private carrier‑grade networks for electric utilities, unlocking new capabilities to monitor and manage the grid and better serve customers. - Fiber:
Expanding fiber optic infrastructure from core networks to customer homes, one of the fastest ways utilities transmit high‑bandwidth data. - Electric Vehicles:
Working with industry leaders and electric utilities to help customers transition to cost‑effective transportation electrification.
- Execute the electrical design of projects from concept through design completion.
- Research, design, and compile project‑related data as required by project managers.
- Apply knowledge of commonly used electrical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the industry.
- Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
- Create project deliverables including device configurations, network architecture diagrams, and specifications.
- Utilize innovative tools such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), 3‑D scanning, and model‑based design.
- Modify and review construction drawings and client presentations for a variety of projects primarily related to electric utilities.
- Meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel to develop relationships with key contact points.
- Perform design quality reviews.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related ABET‑accredited degree.
- Or Bachelor of Science in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET‑accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Master of Science in Electrical Engineering may substitute for 1 year of experience.
- Three years of electrical telecommunications engineering experience preferred, consulting experience preferred.
- Successful completion of FE or Engineering in Training (EIT) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem‑solving environment with demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Capability to apply intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.
- Capability to devise new approaches to problems encountered.
$ – $ yearly. The expected compensation includes a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year‑end incentive bonus program.
