Tricor offers a full suite of innovative, best in class automotive finance, insurance and protection products and services aimed at enhancing the vehicle purchase, finance and ownership experience.

The Opportunity:

The Vice President of Reinsurance is responsible for leading the strategy, structure, and performance of Tricor’s reinsurance programs, with a focus on optimizing dealer participation models, managing risk, and driving shareholder value. This role serves as the organization’s subject matter expert on reinsurance, overseeing captive, fronted, and third‑party arrangements while ensuring alignment with F&I product performance, dealer economics, and overall financial objectives.

Reporting to the COO, the VP of Reinsurance partners closely with Finance, Legal, Product, Underwriting, and Claims to ensure reinsurance structures are both strategically sound and operationally effective. This leader will also play a key role in supporting dealer and shareholder engagement, translating complex reinsurance concepts into clear, actionable insights.

This is a highly strategic and analytical role that requires deep industry expertise, strong financial acumen, and the ability to influence executive leadership, external partners, and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
Reinsurance Strategy & Structure
  • Optimize our current dealer‑participation offering, implementing changes to adapt to evolving market conditions and dealer needs.
  • Evaluate and manage captive, fronted, and third‑party reinsurance arrangements.
  • Align reinsurance structures with F&I product strategy, dealer economics, and shareholder value creation.
  • Support the development of dealer‑owned or shareholder‑participation reinsurance programs where applicable.
  • Ensure appropriate risk transfer, capital adequacy, and loss exposure management.
  • Oversee treaty negotiations, renewals, and counter party relationships with reinsurers and fronting carriers.
  • Establish and maintain reinsurance governance frameworks, reporting cadence, and escalation protocols.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure adherence to insurance regulations, securities considerations, and cross‑border requirements.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert supporting dealer and shareholder discussions related to reinsurance participation and economics.
  • Assist in the development of educational materials, offering memoranda, and data visualization and reporting creation where required.
  • Support senior leadership in strategic conversations with large dealer groups, shareholders, and partners.
Cross‑Functional Leadership
  • Collaborate with Product, Underwriting, Claims, and Operations to ensure reinsurance structures align with real‑world performance.
  • Provide executive‑level insights to the Board and senior leadership on reinsurance performance and strategic opportunities.
  • Build, mentor, and lead reinsurance and related analytical resources as the organization scales.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field;
    Master’s preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in reinsurance, insurance, or F&I administration.
  • Deep understanding of F&I products and dealer economics.
  • Demonstrated experience structuring and managing reinsurance treaties and participation programs.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret actuarial data, loss trends, and profitability metrics.
  • Direct experience working with captives, fronting carriers, and international reinsurance structures required.
  • Proven ability to operate at the executive level and communicate complex concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic, analytical thinker with a strong results orientation.
  • High integrity and sound judgment in managing risk and capital.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of simplifying complex topics.
  • Collaborative leader who can influence across functions without direct authority.
  • Comfortable operating in a growth‑oriented, dealer‑centric environment.
  • Ability to balance long‑term enterprise value creation with near‑term financial performance.
What We Offer:
  • Annual compensation range: $225-250K + 20% variable
  • Remote work environment with occasional travel (bonus points if you live in Dublin, OH!)
