About the Role

The Financial Service Representative (FSR) represents Columbia Credit Union and provides individualized service to members. FSRs are knowledgeable about credit‑union products, provide creative solutions, and ensure members receive exceptional service in a friendly, efficient manner. Availability:
Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 6:30 pm and Saturday 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Train and sponsor new employees.
  • Participate in cross‑functional projects and branch promotions.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all credit‑union products and services; recommend products that enhance members’ financial wellness.
  • Mentor employees for individual development.
  • Adhere to Branch Service Standards.
  • Act as the Digital Expert: educate members and staff on all digital‑related products and services.
  • Serve at the greeter station, welcoming members and assessing their needs.
  • Exercise independent judgment within set authorizations.
  • Support Branch leadership with annual compliance audits.
  • Accept, process, and fund unsecured loan products, titled loans, credit cards, and Home Equity loan products.
  • Partner with Insurance/Investment and Home Loan Departments to provide referrals.
  • Perform additional tasks and duties assigned by Branch Leadership.
  • Support branch growth by consistently outreach to new and existing consumers (calling, email, direct mail, networking, in‑person meetings).
  • Maintain a book of business to ensure members’ needs are met.
  • Accept, process, and fund small business loans.
  • Conduct outreach to business prospects to grow branch membership.
  • Develop internal and external referral sources through business networking and credit‑union sponsored events.
  • Partner with Business Services, Small Business, and Commercial teams to meet business members’ personal banking needs.
  • Support Branch Leadership strategies for overall branch growth and team development.
  • Perform market research to better serve community opportunities and recommendations.
  • Accurately process member transactions and requests using varied software, adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Open, modify, and close personal, business, and fiduciary accounts while providing an educational and friendly experience.
  • Lead cross‑functional branch projects and promotions.
  • Lead Branch Operations and designated points‑of‑contact as necessary.

Qualifications

  • FSR I: Minimum one (1) year of financial industry experience or equivalent; basic understanding of credit.
  • FSR II: Minimum two (2) years of financial industry experience or equivalent; proficient with complex accounts including small business and fiduciary; thorough knowledge of unsecured loan, titled loan, credit card, and Home Equity products.
  • FSR III: Minimum three (3) years of financial industry experience; proficient in all new accounts including fiduciary and small business; thorough knowledge of all loan products; basic understanding of cash‑management business services (e.g., Business online Banking, ACH, wires, account analysis, remote deposit capture).
  • Demonstrated professionalism in written and verbal communication; proven ability to meet and exceed goals.
  • Attain Notary designation within six months of hire.
  • Current NMLS license or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Basic understanding of Business Service products.
  • Reliable to work scheduled shifts:
    Monday through Friday and Saturdays, including split‑week schedule as needed; available for scheduled branch meetings.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with Currency Transaction Reporting (CTR) requirements and BSA compliance program.
