Job Summary This Program Coordinator I position reports to the Compliance Services manager within Public Works and is primarily responsible for the coordination of the non-capital portion of the Public Works asset management program and other Compliance Services duties. This position supports small tools tracking and inventory, materials inventory, the coordination of the annual inventory audits of small, attractive assets, reconciliations, journal entry preparation, assist with administration of the maintenance management system and other compliance duties.

In support of these business processes, this position will perform reconciliations, prepare journal entries, process tool and inventory purchases, develop policies and procedures, assist in program performance evaluation, perform internal audits, provide training to staff on inventory and internal controls, recommend courses of action to the Compliance Services Manager, and provide occasional updates to Senior Management Team members as needed to ensure that projects stay on track.
The successful candidate will have some experience in these areas and will be familiar with creating a collaborative environment of shared accountability while ensuring that regulations are adhered to and program compliance goals are met.
This position offers a hybrid remote work schedule, however, the candidate selected must reside in Washington or Oregon. No exceptions.# Qualifications

* Education and Experience:

*** At least three years of inventory management, accounting, or compliance experience, or
* A bachelor’s degree or the equivalent, in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
* Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
* Specialized experience in the area of assignment is highly desirable. However, this expertise is not required at entry into the classification.
* A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required for this position.
** Knowledge of:
** The principles and practices of inventory program management, including planning, scheduling, monitoring, and problem solving. General accounting principles and practices; BARS (Budgeting, Accounting and Reporting System for State and Local Governments); computer applications related to financial reporting (database, spreadsheet, word processing); research methods and information sources; relevant computer- based systems and applications; principles and techniques of project management, application and interpretation of County, state and federal laws and regulations relevant to the program area;

analysis and evaluation of policies, procedures, public information,and service delivery issues; local and state lawmaking processes; trends and practices within the specialized area; and personal computer applications and usage.
** Ability to:
** Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships. Analyze and solve complex problems and explain results in writing. Interpret, apply, and explain federal, state and local policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. Meet deadlines. Evaluate and improve department service delivery through enhancement of procedures, systems, organizational approaches and record keeping; develop and demonstrate effective customer service techniques.
