Therapeutic Courts - Peer Support Specialist

Jefferson County is seeking a compassionate and motivated individual to join our Therapeutic Courts team, supporting participants in the Behavioral Health Court and Drug Court programs. In this vital role, you will work directly with individuals facing challenges related to mental health and substance use, helping them navigate their recovery journey with understanding and encouragement. Through mentorship, advocacy, and connection to resources, you’ll play a key role in helping participants meet program goals and build lasting stability.
This position works under the supervision and guidance of the Therapeutic Courts Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications: Individual needs to be able to perform this job successfully in each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are listed on the job description, please see attached, and are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED), familiarity with Therapeutic Court practices, and experience using database systems. Must pass a background check. Must sign confidentiality agreement upon acceptance of employment.
Compensation: Part‑time position that works hours as needed. Typically, 12 hours per week, no more than 69 hours per month. $18.91 per hour. No benefits. One hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked.
