Women who have a history of drug or alcohol use during pregnancy to include use of MAT; less than successful involvement with community services, and who are pregnant or up to 24 months post‑partum. PCAP also accepts mothers who have a child with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and are still able to have children.

Description

Case management, advocacy services and some transportation services are provided by well‑trained and supervised Case Managers. Case Managers assist clients to develop goals to improve quality of life for themselves and their children. PCAP offers ongoing support, transportation and referrals to community resources to including, but not limited to:

  • SUD treatment
  • Family planning
  • Medical care
  • Support working with Child Protective Service (CPS)
  • Housing
  • DSHS benefits
  • Education

Case managers involve the participant's family to support client as needed and to locate disengaged participants. Once enrolled in the program, women receive support & services for three years.

Kitsap Parent-Child Assistance Program (PCAP)

A three-year intensive case management program providing services for pregnant and parenting women who have used substances or have been on MAT during pregnancy, are no more than 24 months post‑partum and who have limited connection to community services including prenatal and postnatal care. PCAP is a statewide program evaluated by the University of Washington School of Medicine & Psychiatry, Addictions Alcohol and Drug Institute (ADAI), and hosted in Kitsap County by Agape' Unlimited.

Services include case management, some transportation and referral support for all family members. The program is funded by the WA Health Care Authority and is free to eligible participants who receive 3‑years of relationship‑based, supportive services.
