The work schedule is 36 hours per week, three 12‑hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with every other weekend and rotating holidays.
Under the direction of a registered/licensed nurse (RN), you will be a member of an interdisciplinary health care team that assists in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment.
Patient Care NecessityYes, this position requires direct patient care.
Essential Functions- Perform patient care–related duties and clinical functions as assigned, including, but not limited to, performing and documenting point‑of‑care scans, vital signs, EKGs, bathing and other sanitary needs of patients, transferring and assisting with ambulation, feeding patients, etc.; assist RNs and physicians with other exams and treatments as required.
- Ensure that patient rooms are stocked, equipped, and cleaned appropriately, as needs indicate and as patient volumes change.
- Perform specimen collection and documents all appropriate information.
- Retrieve equipment from other areas, set it up, clean it between patient use, and report malfunctioning equipment per organizational policy.
- Document patient information, such as height, weight, intake of fluids and food, output of urine/stool/vomit/other drainage, and blood glucose results.
- Assist patients with food tray setup and eating if necessary.
- Communicate with nursing staff in an effective and timely manner around issues related to patient care and patient condition.
- Receive and direct medical staff, personnel, patients, and visitors.
- Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Experience cannot be used in lieu of a degree. - Licenses & Credentials:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred. Nursing Assistant (LNA – New Hampshire) preferred;
New Hampshire Board of Nursing license preferred. - Experience:
1‑2 years of healthcare experience required. - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to multitask and handle stressful crisis situations effectively; demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology; demonstrated typing skills and computer experience; good interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills; ability to lift and transport patients using safe physical technique per Safe Patient Handling Guidelines.
