Assessment Lead Position Summary
The Assessment Lead is responsible for the responsibility of the assessment lead is to perform the evaluation and admission process in conjunction with the on-call physician. assists the director of assessment in directing all department activities and monitoring the quality of services provided.
Essential Functions- Facilitates response to request for services, including the initial response, the assessment and referral process, the designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services and appropriate follow up activity
- Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documenting patient symptomology, functioning, needs and provides information to MD for LOC determination
- Demonstrates excellent customer serviced skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner
- Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA
- Maintains all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy, completes all per-certification with insurance companies
- Ensures appropriate staffing for shift
- Minimizes use of overtime
Assists in monitoring attendance - Educates and coaches staff and acts as a point person for clinical decisions
- Reports all issues and incidents to the Director of appropriately
- Ensures staff has completed all needed documentation, call logging, insurance calls, and additional tasks prior to the end of shift

Director of Assessment - FLSA Status:
Non-exempt - Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred. Must have strong clinical assessment skills.
Associate's Degree in Nursing Required or Master's degree in Social Work/Counseling required.
LicenseCurrent clinical, social work, or RN license as required by state regulations.
CertificationsCPR and De-escalation certification required or obtain within 30 days of hire.
