Description

Peace Health Southwest Medical Center Inpatient Rehab is seeking a Physical Therapist for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at Peace Health is $48.52 – $72.78. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8 hour shifts with a Saturday rotations and holiday rotations

Job Summary

Responsible for the evaluation of patients, determining plan-of-care and goals of treatment, participating in treatment of patients within the scope of Physical Therapy. May provide oversight to therapy assistants and/or students in following the plan-of-care and treatment of patients appropriate to the age of the patient served; may provide supervision to therapy aides and/or volunteers. Works as part of a patient care team toward the best outcomes for the patient.

What you will do:
  • Evaluates assigned patients and establishes a treatment plan and goals, using data from a variety of sources, such as patient records, interviews, observation, and team members.
  • Provides patient treatment according to plan of care and modifies plan to meet patient needs, and updates plan as appropriate.
  • Completes documentation accurately, timely, according to regulatory and state licensure requirements, and within professional standards.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals as necessary to ensure smooth continuous care of the patients. May act as a liaison with nursing, medical and other therapy staffs to facilitate problem solving and coordination of other services and act as an educational resource.
  • May mentor and provide oversight to new caregivers, physical therapist assistants, and/or therapy aides. Provides clinical instruction and training to students.
  • Recommends and participates in development of new services and programs, quality improvement and monitoring activities.
  • May participate in staff meetings, patient care meetings, educational in-services, caregiver orientation and other professional activities.
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's Degree

    Required:

    Physical Therapy or
  • Master's Degree

    Required:

    Physical Therapy or
  • Doctorate Degree

    Required:

    Physical Therapy accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education or closely related field (foreign equivalent accepted)
Credentials
  • Required:

    Physical Therapist - Washington and
  • Required:

    Upon Hire Basic Life Support
Skills
  • General knowledge of field and ability to utilize library resource appropriately (Required)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Required)
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills (Required)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and display flexibility in a fast paced and changing work environment (Required)
  • Ability to assess patients’ conditions and exercise independent judgment (Required)

Working Conditions

Lifting

  • Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
  • Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
  • Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.
  • Lifting (non-patient)/carrying occasionally up to 25 lbs.
  • Push/Pull: 1-25 lbs. of force occasionally (i.e., moving equipment).
  • Stooping/ bending/ squatting/ kneeling occasionally.
  • Rehabilitaion staff working with patients with rehabilitation goals involving bed mobility, transfers and gait may use other appropriate and approved safe techniques…
