We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist III to join our team at a medical center in Salmon Creek. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws, labeling specimens, updating patient information, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations. This role requires the ability to provide excellent customer service and handle insurance and billing processes efficiently. The position is based within the hospital, with no requirement to float or leave the premises.

• Greet patients upon arrival to the lab and prepare them for specimen collection.
• Perform venipuncture using straight needles or butterfly needles, and collect specimens following established procedures.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Ensure specimens are stored and transported at the correct temperature to maintain integrity.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and check test requisitions for accuracy.
• Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results when necessary.
• Update and maintain accurate patient information and data entry.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department training.
• Provide compassionate and professional customer service to all patients.

• Certification as a Washington State Phlebotomist is mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience, including proficiency with straight and butterfly needles.
• Ability to perform 20–50+ draws per shift in high-pressure environments.
• Experience in handling and labeling specimens accurately.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and ability to troubleshoot technology issues.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• National Phlebotomy Certification (NHA, ASCP) preferred but not required.
• Ability to handle difficult draws such as scar tissue, rolling veins, and pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Strong customer service skills with a patient-first mindset.
• Adaptability to work in diverse teams and manage workload independently.
• Proven reliability with a strong attendance record and ability to work under pressure.

This position is based at a medical center in Salmon Creek and requires working Monday to Friday from 4:30 am to 1:00 pm, with potential weekend shifts. The initial contract duration is 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs. This is a Contract position based out of Vancouver, WA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.05/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
