Position Summary:The Admissions and Registration Coordinator will handle administrative (non-clinical) aspects of the patient encounter to achieve an ideal patient experience, while collecting and maintaining accurate demographic and insurance information for each hospital account record/encounter. The incumbent offers friendly, courteous assistance to patients, supports the clinical care team, and maintains a positive, professional demeanor. The position includes, but is not limited to, working in a high-intensity, 24/7 environment and achieving proficiency in Epic Patient Access, Grand Central, and Hospital Billing modules.
The Admissions and Registration Coordinator must have excellent communication and customer service skills as the position interacts with a diverse team and patient population. The role is responsible for executing activities including registrations, scheduling, time-of-service collections, obtaining authorizations, and providing same-day admission notification to payers.
Evening Shift, 40 hours per week, 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm; weekend and holiday work is required.
Job training will take place during the day shift for 6-8 weeks.
Requirements:- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare or medical office.
- EPIC applications, including scheduling, registration, billing, order communications, etc.
