Phlebotomist

Location: Vancouver, WA |
Schedule: Full-time, on-site, 5am-1:30pm M-F, will require weekends and holidays |
Compensation: $27 per hour

A healthcare services provider is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to support its laboratory operations on a contract basis for a projected duration of 3 months, with potential for permanent placement. This role is essential to ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing that supports patient care and diagnostic testing.

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and complete decontamination procedures
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures
• Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture and other specimen collection processes (e.g., urine or fecal) to patients as required
• Demonstrate proper technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
• Fully understand and follow all physicians' orders
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy
• Package specimens for transport
• Store specimen samples according to required temperature and placement guidelines
• Assist with troubleshooting, training, and workflow recommendations
• Update patient information as needed

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of experience
• 5 - 7 + years experience required

• $27 per hour
