PositionAssistant Director of Catering and Events
Responsibilities- Manage contracted groups and social event food/beverage and meeting room revenues and experiences, room block management, and negotiation of supplier services.
- Ensure event planner satisfaction while meeting or exceeding department and individual revenue goals.
- Handle complex events, maintain relationships with corporate and social accounts, creative design of menus and events to maximize revenue and event experience.
- Ensure seamless turnover from sales to service and back to sales.
- Recognize opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements.
- Document and coordinate event details with Sales, other hotel departments and customers throughout pre‑event, event, and post‑event phases.
- Negotiate business through proposals and contracts to close business.
- Serve as the primary event planner contact following turnover on property.
- Support Director of Catering and Events in his/her absence.
- Be globally aligned with the Americas Commercial Operations function while locally supporting superior business results.
- Help develop innovative, forward‑thinking team members.

- Embrace and lead implementation of all Americas C&E initiatives and objectives.
- Ensure standards/practices for event delivery.
- Assist in proper use of function space, exhibit hall, and event spaces.
- Assist in the development and management of departmental budgets.
- Assist in forecasting and cost reporting for events.
- Assist in ensuring proper staffing and integration of current trends.
- Participate in customer site inspections and assist in the sales process as necessary.
- Other duties as necessary based on business needs.
- Regular attendance.
- Minimum Education:
High School Degree/GED. - Minimum 4 years hospitality management experience and 3 years event services management experience.
- Management
Experience:
Project & process management. - 10% travel required.

Salary range: $90,000 - $93,000
Sales Incentive Plan:
- Quarterly component worth 20% of bonus eligible earnings.
- Multiple individually weighted objectives with uncapped payout if revenue goal ≥200k USD.
- Cap at 60% at 250% achievement when revenue goal below 200k USD.
