Jacko Logistics is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day HR operations while helping us continue to build a people-first culture. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys solving complex HR challenges, ensuring compliance across multiple states, and partnering with leaders to support a rapidly growing organization.
This role will not be involved in any of the recruiting of staff members.

What You'll Do- Lead all day-to-day Human Resources operations across a multi-state workforce.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for employment law compliance, policies, and HR best practices.
- Manage all Workers' Compensation/L&I claims, return-to-work programs, and coordinate with insurance carriers and third-party administrators.
- Administer and oversee FMLA, state Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML), ADA accommodations, and other protected leaves
, ensuring compliance and a positive employee experience. - Partner with leadership on employee relations, performance management, coaching, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states.
- Develop, update, and maintain employee handbooks, policies, SOPs, and HR documentation.
- Support onboarding, offboarding, disciplinary actions, terminations, and employee communications.
- Assist with unemployment claims, audits, wage and hour compliance, and HR reporting.
- Collaborate with Payroll and Benefits to ensure accurate employee records and seamless HR operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the employee experience.
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Experience supporting employees across multiple states with varying employment laws.
- Strong working knowledge of:
FMLA, Workers' Compensation/L&I - Leave of Absence Administration
- Employee Relations
- Employment Law Compliance
- Investigations
- Performance Management
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential employee matters with professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is preferred but not required.
- Experience in transportation, trucking, logistics, or another fast-paced operational environment is a plus.
