Job Summary
Senior UX Designer, Intelligent Experiences – Join HP’s Global Experience Design team to shape intelligent printing experiences for SMB and Enterprise customers worldwide. This role involves designing control panel OS, interface experiences, onboarding, scanning, device management, and next‑generation AI‑driven solutions across hardware, software, services, and workflows.
Key Responsibilities- Design end‑to‑end user experiences across printer hardware interfaces, control panel operating system and UI, PC and mobile software, setup and onboarding flows, maintenance tools, and partner‑facing management solutions.
- Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative user research, including in‑person ethnography, focus groups, usability studies, and concept validation, and translate findings into design direction and product recommendations.
- Create experience strategies, journey maps, flows, prototypes, specifications, and reusable design patterns to improve consistency across products, services, and touchpoints.
- Partner with software, firmware, program management, product marketing, and other HP interface teams to align on experience vision, user needs, technical feasibility, and brand consistency.
- Work closely with engineering teams to understand constraints, shape feasible solutions, make trade‑offs, and deliver detailed design guidance from concept through implementation.
- Collaborate with designers and cross‑functional partners across global teams to deliver high‑quality, holistic experiences for complex programs and product portfolios.
- Raise the quality of visual design across interfaces by working with design systems and adjacent teams to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with brand standards.
- Contribute to product discussions, reviews, and presentations with stakeholders across the organization.
- Share ideas, support team learning, and promote strong experience design practices across the organization.
- Thrive in evolving, ambiguous environments where AI capabilities, user expectations, and design best practices are changing rapidly.
- Bring familiarity with AI‑powered design tools and workflows, including generative design and prototyping assistants, and experiment with new capabilities.
- Recommended:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Experience Design, User Experience, Human Factors, Human‑Computer Interaction, Product Design, Service Design, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Typically 5+ years of experience designing end‑to‑end digital, device, or service experiences with a strong portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, interaction design, visual design sensitivity, and user‑centered problem solving.
- Experience working across product ecosystems that may include hardware, embedded or device interfaces, software, setup flows, management tools, or service journeys.
- Experience designing for or with AI‑powered products, services, or workflows, and curiosity about how emerging AI tools can support the design process.
- Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams, communicate design rationale clearly, and navigate ambiguity in fast‑evolving product environments.
- Preferred:
Certified User Experience Professional (CUXP) certification.
- End‑to‑end experience design across hardware, software, services, and connected ecosystems.
- Experience strategy, journey mapping, information architecture, and systems thinking.
- Interaction design, prototyping, user flows, and usability best practices.
- Strong visual design judgment and attention to craft, consistency, and brand alignment.
- Qualitative and quantitative user research, ethnography, concept validation, and usability testing.
- Proficiency in Figma, with working knowledge of collaboration tools such as Fig Jam and Miro.
- Design systems thinking and the ability to create scalable patterns and frameworks.
- Familiarity with AI‑powered design tools, generative workflows, and designing for AI‑driven products and services.
- Strong storytelling, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
